Knappier than I've been since I locked up

I still havent retwisted my hair! I'm now sporting head bands to cover my extra fuzzy new growth. Friday I washed my hair which is normal, but what isnt normal is that I didnt immediately retwist as I always do. I oiled and conditioned my hair and put a head scarf on because I had some errands to run and I had to get on the road to go to Austin to see about my grandma. So now here I am on Tuesday, still untwisted and knappier than ever. Now on the good side, I am enjoying seeing my knatural wave pattern after I take the scarf off and my newgrowth is laying down, however when I wake up in the morning and my scarf had slid off I'm looking like I have a mini fro with dreads sticking out and I am not feeeling that look at aaaalllll! Some people dont mind that look, but it is not for me. Over the weekend I purchased a crochet latch and had a girlfriend try it out on the back of my head. She did about three or four rows before I had to come back home and we both like it for the back of my hair. I will continue to palm roll the top front because I prefer the look of the palm roll to the latch. I was going to attempt to try to latch the rest of the back last night, but got caught up cutting pictures out for my vision board and book, but I will give it a try most def this evening because I can not go another day like this. If all else fails I'll just palm roll the rest of my hair until next time. We'll I will will take some pictures and let ya'll see what happens. Stay Knappy!

What started this journey...

My journey started on June 16, 2005 on what will always be known as the worst hair day of my knatural borne life and the day I made the best decision of my life. My 3 year old afro was not acting right and wasn't showing any signs of acting right soon. I brushed, plaited, twisted, oiled, washed, wrapped up and puffed, but all to no avail, when my BSF said the words I'll never forget. "Why don't we just lock up? I mean, you've been talking about it, and if you do it then I'll do it with you." Priceless words. Well, once we decided that we immediately went online, did our research and figured out how we were going to start them and with what product. I started my 4-5in. locks with two strand twist, using ORS lock and twist gel. You can view my journey at http://www.fotki.com/TheCurlyOne/ and see photos from before I started locking up until a few months ago. My regime has stayed pretty consistant over the years and that requires me to do a retwist every 3 to 4 weeks. I'll do a touch up on the front locks if I want to go an extra week without doing a full retwist. I'm currently palmrolling but I am research the nappy locs too to see how latching feels for me. I'd like to latch the back and continue to palm roll the front because I love the coiled retwist look that you don't get from the latch method. I'm coming upon my 3 year lockaversary and I want to do something special to my locks. A straw or roller set using pipe cleaners will probably be the next style that I attempt. I have everything I need I just have to actually sit down and do it.
